  • A big thank you to Dhruv Rungta from Duke University for spending time with us in Ruam Thai to learn about human–elephant coexistence and the inspiring story of this community. From sleepless nights in pineapple fields to innovative solutions like beehive fences, homestays, and alternative crops, Dhruv captured both the challenges and the resilience of the people living alongside Kuiburi’s wild elephants. We’re grateful he chose to learn and share these stories with the world through his beautifully written piece in Conservation Mag.

  • A big thank you to the incredible Coexistence Champions of @cincinnatizoo for spending time with us to co-create powerful educational experiences across our coexistence spaces. 💛 The outcomes are beyond anything we imagined. From capturing the history of Ruam Thai, to sharing the stories of the elephants of Kuiburi National Park, strengthening the Tom Yum production facilities, bringing sensory gardens to life, and designing meaningful activities for visitors of all ages. We can’t help but go back to the memories we made together. Moments of learning, laughing, creating, and building a future where people and elephants thrive side by side. Here’s to everything we built… and everything still to come. 🐘✨

  • We’re incredibly proud of our researchers Natsuda Sutiboriban (Mo) and @mari_marisap (Kie), whose dedication and compassion continue to drive meaningful change for elephants and the communities who live alongside them. 🌿🐘 We’re also deeply grateful for the ongoing support of the @cincinnatizoo & Botanical Garden, who support Mo, Kie, and other emerging conservationists from the very communities where conservation happens through a Fellowship focused on elevating local leaders historically underrepresented in the field.
Right now, a team of CZBG Coexistence Champions is with us in Ruam Thai village, co-designing educational spaces that uplift the community and strengthen our conservation events. 💚
Together, we’re building safer, more hopeful landscapes for people and elephants alike. • 🌿 When deforestation pushes Asian elephants out of their forest homes, they’re more likely to wander into villages and farms, leading to dangerous encounters for both people and elephants. By protecting forests, preventing poaching, and reducing conflict, we can help elephants stay within their natural home ranges, creating safer, healthier landscapes for everyone who shares them. 💚🐘 👉 Learn more about how we’re building coexistence and symbolically adopt an elephant today: find the link to Adopt an Elephant in our bio. #BringTheElephantHome #HumanElephantCoexistence #SaveElephants #AsianElephants #WildlifeConservation #ProtectForests #EndDeforestation #AdoptAnElephant #Coexistence #ConservationInAction

  • 🌿 Knowledge Exchange for Coexistence 🐘
Over the past three days, farmers from Thailand’s Eastern Forest Complex and Ruam Thai Village, Kui Buri, came together to share real-life experiences of living alongside elephants. Through this hands-on exchange, participants explored alternative livelihoods such as agroforestry and elephant-unpalatable crops, discussed human–elephant conflict mitigation strategies, and exchanged ideas for creating elephant-friendly products from alternative crops. This collaboration between Wanna Kaset representatives and Bring The Elephant Home demonstrates the power of community-to-community learning — connecting those who live closest to elephants to build practical, sustainable coexistence solutions. 💚 #HumanElephantCoexistence #CommunityBasedConservation #KnowledgeSharing #AsianElephant
