Across Thailand, farmers living near protected areas face crop damage from wild elephants, which can threaten livelihoods, safety and the future of human–elephant coexistence. The Tom Yum Project supports farmers to organically grow crops that elephants are less likely to eat, creating alternative income opportunities while reducing pressure on farmers and elephants. Proceeds help restore vital habitat and strengthen social, economic and ecological resilience, so people and elephants can thrive side by side.

We are now developing the Community Resilience Hub in Ruam Thai Village: a community-led centre for training, knowledge sharing, produce processing and practical coexistence solutions. Around the Hub, Sensory Gardens will help local communities, students and visitors learn about human–elephant coexistence, regenerative agriculture, biodiversity and community resilience.
With your support, the Hub can provide farmers with access to certified processing facilities, reliable market opportunities, practical workshops and the tools needed to reduce conflict and protect both livelihoods and elephants.
